The Romanian Government (“the Government”) were represented by their Agent, Ms C. Brumar, from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The applicant complained under Article 6 § 1 of the Convention and Article 1 of Protocol No. 1 to the Convention about the state authorities’ failure to enforce the final judgment rendered in his favour. On 11 September 2012 the Government submitted to the Registry their observations on the admissibility and merits of the application. These were forwarded on 25 October 2012 to the applicant, who was invited to submit by 6 December 2012 his claims for just satisfaction. On 3 December 2012 the applicant informed the Court that he wanted to withdraw the application. By letter dated 16 September 2014, sent by registered post, the applicant was asked to confirm that he wanted to withdraw the application. The letter was returned to the Court as unclaimed. THE LAW In the light of the foregoing, and in the absence of any special circumstances regarding respect for the rights guaranteed by the Convention or its Protocols, the Court, in accordance with Article 37 § 1 (a) of the Convention, considers that it is no longer justified to continue the examination of the application. Accordingly, the case should be struck out of the list. For these reasons, the Court, unanimously, Decides to strike the application out of its list of cases.
