He was represented before the Court by Ms N.A. Baranova, a lawyer practising in Moscow. The applicant’s complaints under Article 10 of the Convention about disproportionate measures against solo demonstrators and under Article 6 of the Convention concerning lack of impartiality of the tribunal in view of the absence of a prosecuting party in administrative-offence proceedings were communicated to the Russian Government (“the Government”). On 31 July 2023 the applicant’s representative informed the Court that the applicant wanted to withdraw the application. She submitted the applicant’s written request to that effect. On 24 January 2024 the applicant’s representative reiterated this request on behalf of the applicant. THE LAW In the light of the foregoing, and in the absence of any special circumstances regarding respect for the rights guaranteed by the Convention or its Protocols, the Court, in accordance with Article   37   §   1   (a) of the Convention, considers that it is no longer justified to continue the examination of the application. In view of the above, it is appropriate to strike the case out of the list. For these reasons, the Court, unanimously, Decides to strike the application out of its list of cases. Done in English and notified in writing on 12 June 2025.     Viktoriya Maradudina   Diana Kovatcheva   Acting Deputy Registrar   PresidentCitations
