Having learnt that another party activist had been committed to the police for displaying a totalitarian symbol, the applicant demonstrated in front of the police building, claiming the release of the other activist. He was committed to the police station for about five hours and was later prosecuted for the offence of displaying a totalitarian symbol. Although the prosecution was subsequently discontinued, the applicant’s administrative action against the police for unjustified action was dismissed on 12 February 2014. Another similar incident occurred on 29 July 2012 when the applicant, wearing a five-pointed red star, demonstrated against Government policies. His case challenging the ensuing police action was finally dismissed by the Kúria on 12 March 2014.
