Specifically, the applicant maintains: (i) that the printed article in question raised serious issues to do with the alleged sexual abuse of an underaged Romani girl; and (ii) that he ultimately ended up being punished for the article’s publication by losing a civil defamation case, having his views characterised as libellous and being ordered to pay compensation plus costs to the plaintiff. QUESTION TO THE PARTIES Has there been a violation of the applicant’s right to freedom of expression, in particular his right to impart information and ideas, contrary to Article   10 of the Convention?
