According to the applicant, it has been in her family’s possession since the end of the 19th century. The domestic courts concluded that the predecessors of the applicant had not gained ownership over the “Abbot Estate” as they had made the transaction with a person that was not the owner, Mr G.D. The applicant, invoking Article 1 of Protocol No. 1, argues that the domestic courts disregarded the Athens Treaty of 1913 that protected the property rights obtained during the Ottoman period, as her predecessors owned the relevant piece of land since 1880, which resulted in her being deprived of her property. QUESTIONS TO THE PARTIES Has there been an interference with the applicant’s peaceful enjoyment of possessions, within the meaning of Article 1 of Protocol No.   1? In particular, did the applicant have a possession within the meaning of Article 1 of Protocol No. 1? If so, has the applicant been deprived of her possession in the public interest, and in accordance with the conditions provided for by law, within the meaning of Article 1 of Protocol No.   1, in the absence of any compensation therefor?Citations
