France - 36754/97 Judgment 5.10.1999 [Section III] Article 6 Criminal proceedings Article 6-1 Reasonable time Length of criminal proceedings: violation The case concerns the length of criminal proceedings brought against the applicant. The proceedings began in March 1994 and are still pending before the court of appeal. They have therefore lasted around five and a half years, including five years and almost two months before the first instance court. Conclusion : violation (unanimous).
