Its formatting and structure may therefore differ from the Case-Law Information Note summaries.] A.   Period to be taken into consideration Starting-point: date on which application for judicial separation was filed with matrimonial causes judge of relevant tribunal de grande instance. End: date of delivery of Court of Cassation's judgment. Total: approximately seven years and one month. B.   Criteria for assessment Complexity of the case: large number of interlocutory applications filed, especially by the applicant, made case a complex one. Conduct of the parties: contributed considerably to prolonging proceedings. Conduct of the judicial authorities: three periods might appear excessive, but explanation to be found in applicant's behaviour. Regard being had to all the circumstances of the case and to role of the parties in its conduct, total length of proceedings was not excessive.
