Elected for a six-year term of office, he will replace Vladimiro Zagrebelsky, who in March will be reaching the age-limit for the Court’s judges [1] .   Mr Raimondi was born in 1953. A member of the judiciary, he has worked in particular in the Diplomatic Legal Service of the Italian Ministry for Foreign Affairs. He is currently Legal Advisor to the International Labour Office and head of the ILO’s Legal Services. Mr   Raimondi has been appointed ad hoc judge of the Court by the Italian Government in a number of cases.   ***   This press release is a document produced by the Registry. [1] Under Article 23 § 6 of the European Convention on Human Rights, the terms of office of judges expire when they reach the age of 70.
