After a speech by the Court’s President Mr Jean-Paul Costa, and an introduction by Mrs Françoise Tulkens, Section President and judge elected in respect of Belgium, the seminar continued with presentations by Mr Geert Corstens, President of the Supreme Court of the Netherlands , Mr Branko Hrvatin, President of the Supreme Court of Croatia, and Dame Mary Arden DBE, Judge at the Court of Appeal of England and Wales. At the solemn hearing which followed the seminar, President Costa and Mr Jean-Marc Sauvé, Vice-President of the French Conseil d’Etat addressed an audience of about 250, including many representatives of judicial institutions and national and local authorities.
