France (application no. 17265/05) The first applicant, Philippe Brunet Lecomte, is a French national who was born in 1954 and lives in Lyons (France). He is publication director of the monthly magazine Lyon Mag’ . The second applicant is the publisher of the magazine, whose registered offices are in Lyons. Relying, in particular, on Article 10 (freedom of expression) of the European Convention on Human Rights, the applicants complain about their conviction for defamation following the publication in Lyon Mag’ in 2001 of an article about the Islamist networks in Lyons.   Boris Stojanovski v. “The former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia” (no. 41916/04) The applicant, Boris Stojanovski, is a Macedonian national who was born in 1983 and lives in Skopje. In February 1994 he was injured in a fight. Relying on Article   6   §   1 (right to a fair hearing within a reasonable time and right of access to a court) of the Convention, he complains about the excessive length of the criminal proceedings brought against the two people who had allegedly caused him grievous bodily harm and about the fact that no decision has ever been taken concerning his compensation claim brought in the course of those proceedings as the courts advised him to bring a separate civil action for damages.   Length-of-proceedings case   In the following case, the applicant complains in particular under Article   6   §   1 (right to a fair hearing within a reasonable time) about the excessive length of (non-criminal) proceedings. The applicant also relies on Article   13 (right to an effective remedy).   Kabakchievi v.
