POLAND   Tuesday 19 October 1999, at 2. 30 p.m.           The applicant   The case concerns an application (application no. 29461/95) brought by a Polish national, Dorota Drewniak, who was born in 1957 and lives in Bielsko-Biała (Poland).   Summary of the facts   On 26 September 1994 the applicant was arrested in a public place by two policemen who allegedly pushed and hit her.   She was taken in an unmarked car to a police station where she was questioned and charged with coercion for preventing her brother from using an electric installation in the house they co-owned. She subsequently received 19 days sick leave. She lodged with the competent court a complaint against the police for wrongful arrest, but it was finally dismissed on 25 May 1995. Criminal proceedings were instituted against her for resisting arrest, but discontinued on 15 September 1998.   Complaint   The applicant complains, under Article 3 of the European Convention on Human Rights, that the treatment she received from the police was degrading and, under Article 5 § 1, that she was wrongly deprived of her liberty. She also complains under Article 5 § 2 that she was not informed of the charges against her at the time of her arrest.   Procedure   The application was lodged with the European Commission of Human Rights on 2 July 1995. On 1 November 1998 the case was transmitted to the Court.
