Turkey (no. 35980/97)   Friendly settlement The five applicants, all Turkish nationals, were detained while attending a seminar about an illegal organisation, the Turkish Revolutionary Communist Union (TİKB) and subsequently accused of being members. They complained under Article 5 § 3 (right to be brought promptly before a judge) that they were not brought promptly before a judge after their detention and also alleged violations of Articles 6 and 14 (freedom from discrimination).   The case has been struck out following a friendly settlement in which 140,000 French francs is to be paid to the applicants on an ex gratia basis. (The judgment is available only in English.)   (2)     Kolokitha v. Greece (no. 47020/99)   Friendly settlement Vassilios Kolokithas and Panagiota Kolokitha, both Greek nationals, complained, relying on Article 6 § 1, that the Greek administration refused to comply with court judgements granting them damages. The case has been struck out following a friendly settlement in which the applicants are to be paid 500,000 Greek drachmas. (The judgment is available only in French.)   (3) Mas.A. and others v. Italy (no. 53708/00 )   Friendly settlement The 208 applicants - all haemophiliacs or relatives of haemophiliacs who contracted hepatitis B or C or AIDS or who became HIV-positive following blood transfusions during the 1980s - complained under Article 6 § 1 of the length of the civil proceedings, which lasted in the region of three years and four months to six years.   The case has been struck out following a friendly settlement in which between 5,000,000 and 90,000,000 Italian lire (ITL) (on average, ITL 60,000,000) was awarded to each applicant for non-pecuniary damage and a global sum of ITL 80,000,000 was awarded to all the applicants for costs and expenses.
