According to the applicant, the proceedings had by then already lasted for over six years and three months and were still pending for execution. 14.

The applicant was released pending trial the same day.

  The applicants complain under Article 6 § 1 of the Convention that the criminal proceedings have lasted an unreasonably long time. 2.

In this appeal he raised in essence the same complaints. He further submitted that his defence rights had been breached in the criminal proceedings.

On the same day he submitted a request to the prison governor for urgent leave to attend her funeral, which was due to take place on 5 July 2016 at around 5 p.m.
