As it follows from the advice of receipt which returned to the Court, the letter of 19 June 2006 was not delivered to the applicant because he had died.

In October 1997 G. died.

The applicants are the administrators of the estate of Mr Demetrios Kapnoulla who died in a traffic accident on 27 January 1989.

On the night of 4 February 2007 the applicants’ son died in a car accident. The accident occurred when the applicants’ son turned left into the driveway of his house.

On 30 March 2004 the applicant’s son died as a result of an industrial accident at the State mining company S. where he was employed.

Her mother still lives in that village, her father died when she was 5 years old.

The applicant died in the course of the proceedings before the Court. The Russian Government (“the Government”) were represented by Ms   V.   Milinchuk and Mr   G.

On 10 October 2019 the applicant’s representative informed the Registry that the applicant had died. His mother, Ms   K. Dyakonova, expressed the wish to pursue the application.

Indeed, in general, in such cases the prospects of any effective investigation leading to the prosecution of suspects would increasingly diminish as memories faded, witnesses died or became untraceable

By a letter of 14 November 2022, the Government submitted that the applicant’s representative, Mr Rasmus Anberg, had died in March 2021, shortly after lodging the application, that his firm had been resolved

On the various dates indicated in the appended table the Registry was informed that the applicants had died and that their applications to the Court would not be pursued for the absence of heirs.

After lodging the present application with the Court on 6   September 2010, the applicant died on 19 May 2012.

On 2 November 2010 the copy of the letter addressed to the applicant himself came back at the Court with a note by the Bulgarian Post Office that the applicant had died.

On 11 February 2017 L.D.L. was transferred to the Turin Prison, where he died two days later from a cardiogenic shock associated with endocarditis.
