On 31 July 2002 the applicants’ three-year-old daughter, while walking with the second applicant, was severely injured and later died, after a rubbish container she had touched fell on top of her.

His wife died in 1997 leaving him as the administrator of her estate. On 4 August 1997, the applicant applied to the Benefits Agency for social security benefits.

On 15 February 2025 the applicant’s representative informed the Court that the applicant had died on 21 November 2023 and that the applicant’s wife, Mrs Ilaha Israfil gizi Hasanova, expressed her wish

On 5 April 2018 the applicant died. On 7 April 2018 the application was lodged before the Court, however the applicant’s lawyer did not mention that the applicant was already dead.
