At 1.45 p.m. on the same day the applicant voluntarily surrendered to the police ( явка з повинною ), and confessed to Kl.’s murder.

The proceedings before the Supreme Court had lasted almost one year and ten months.

On 13 April 2006 the District Court rejected the applicant’s appeal against this decision for the same reasons.
